Junk car removal on the South Side
Cars Junk Man buys junk, wrecked and dead cars across Chicago's South Side and tows them away free. Pick your neighborhood for pickup notes: the landmarks to give a driver and the parking that makes a tow harder. You're paid at pickup, wherever the car sits.

What to know in each one
- Chatham
- Bungalows with detached garages on the alley, and side streets near the 79th and 87th Street Red Line stops. Tell us whether the garage opens onto the alley.
- Englewood
- Garfield Boulevard to 75th Street. Cars at the curb off Halsted, on lots and in side yards. Give cross streets relative to Halsted or 63rd.
- South Shore
- Courtyard buildings, rear lots and the Metra tracks down the middle of 71st Street. Say which side of 71st, and who opens the gate.
- Auburn Gresham
- Brick two-flats and shared parking. The junk car is often the one wedged in the back. Ask the neighbor to move theirs first.
- Greater Grand Crossing
- Park Manor, Brookline, Essex, Brookdale and Grand Crossing. Some blocks dead-end at rail embankments, so tell us how the truck should come in.
- Woodlawn
- East and West Woodlawn, split at Cottage Grove, with Jackson Park and the campus to the east and north. Tell us where the car can be reached from the street.
Not on the South Side?
These pages are the South Side, because that's where we wrote the pickup notes. Cars Junk Man picks up across the rest of Chicago too, in the Chicagoland suburbs including Joliet and Aurora, and in Northwest Indiana as far as Gary. The process is the same everywhere: send the form, get an offer, free towing, paid at pickup. Start at junk car removal across Chicago.
A junkyard is not the same thing
The South Side has its own junkyards and scrap yards, and people search for them when they have a car to get rid of. Some yards expect you to bring the car to them. Cars Junk Man comes to the car. If yours doesn't run, has flat tires or is stuck in a garage, that difference is the whole point. See non-running car removal.
